About Dream-tiques

In March 2016 Karen gave up a career to follow her love of old furniture and start her company Dream-tiques. Offering a passionate approach to upholstery, restoring your much loved furniture, reviving, repairing and helping you to re-love your upholstered furniture.

“Giving work to skilled crafts people in the U.K is so important rather than importing cheap throw away furniture. We are contributing to sustainability, my team and I have the upholstery skills to make your furniture like new again while you can feel proud to be contributing to the U.K economy.”

With several highly skilled upholsterers, a wood stripping expert, Karen’s woodwork skills plus her trusted antiques couriers together the team have the ability to collect and upholster almost anything from customers across the U.K. Whether it is your sentimental antique or mid-century chair or today's modern furniture. Karen works directly with you providing a professional service, guiding you through the upholstery and restoration process, always on hand to advise customers on suitable fabrics and appropriate wood finishes. Karen also work’s on projects with interior design companies upholstering furniture to contribute to larger cohesive interior schemes.

Karen's obsession for pre-loved goes further than chairs and sofas as she sources carefully chosen smaller items like coffee tables and mid century ceramics to sit along side the chairs and footstools. If you are searching for beautiful quality items to give your home depth and interest she is happy to help source key pieces.

Striving to save great British furniture and encourage people to see the value in what they already have whilst reducing beautiful quality furniture from becoming waste and going into landfill.

“I put money back into the British economy by using British upholstery suppliers, my highly skilled upholsterers plus I buy quality old chairs to restore for your homes. I want to encourage this upholstery recycling process so our industry thrives, there is an increase in upholstery students and we have some exciting talent in the U.K but it could so easily die if we keep importing and sending our money abroad.”
